Bawean, 25 – 28 October 2017

For the first time, the Ksatria Airlangga floating hospital is working with the Health Department of the Gresik District and Umar Mas’ud hospital, Sangkapura, Bawean in doing health services referrals in the Bawean island on 25 – 28 October 2017. Bawean is an island located in the Java Sea, and it is about 80 miles or 120 kilometres north of Gresik. Bawean has two districts, namely Sangkapura and Tambak. It has a population of about 110.000 persons. The people of Bawean mostly have livelihoods as fishers and farmers, as well as becoming a TKI abroad. Since inaugurated in 2014 by the Gresik, the Umar Mas’ud hospital does not yet have the operational permit because the resources to obtain it are not available, including the service and management. For nearly three years stopped and back beroperasional in 2017 beginning with the social activity referral service working with Ksatria Airlangga floating hospital.
